πŸŽ™οΈ Poddy People,

How we doing?

I recently returned from speaking at the Outlier Podcast Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. I've attended several podcast conferences, but this one stands out as the most remarkable experience I've had at a podcast event.

In my view, its smaller size is an advantage for podcasters. I've observed that in smaller gatherings, people are more approachable and eager to engage.

Every person I had the pleasure of meeting was down-to-earth and enthusiastic about learning from one another.

Plus, the hang was great. If you know me, you know that I’m all about the hang.

Next to the conference venue, there's an excellent pizza place called Slackwater, which is a must-try if you find yourself in SLC. Due to its proximity to the event space, a bunch of us went out for drinks and pizza both nights of the event.

If you ever attend a conference, I highly recommend either inviting people out or partaking if you get invited.

In any case, I felt so inspired by my Outlier experience that I've decided to record a podcast episode discussing the benefits of podcast conferences.

Keep scrolling to check it out.

And on a side note, stay tuned because Outlier has more events in the pipeline. There will be another one in May with the location TBD, as well as one in September in Toronto, Canada.

As always,

Keep Listening, Keep Engaging, Keep Creating,

Eric

If you've noticed a recent decline in your podcast download numbers, it might be linked to Apple's new download policy. While this policy was introduced several months ago, I observed its effects on my own podcast.

Strangely, it seems to have worsened lately. Notably, one of my clients' shows also experienced this, and my podcast industry peers have shared similar concerns.

For a detailed insight into this issue, I recommend reading this informative article I stumbled upon. It delves into the impact on the podcast industry. However, I can only imagine it’s going to repercussions across many industries.

Kudos to Max Tani for shedding light on this matter. πŸ“–
