Equipment, Hosting, Music, and Show Notes Wrap Up

Equipment, Hosting, Music, and Show Notes Wrap Up

Hey Fam!

How are your podcast journeys coming along?

Today, I just wanted to send an email with recent blog posts and resources that you may be interested in checking out.

Plus, announcement below!

 - The answer is YES. You do need headphones for podcasting. You’re going to need headphones regardless of where you’re recording, or the environment you’re recording in. You’ll need to be able to hear how you, and everyone else on the podcast sounds.

 - To get great audio, you'll need a dynamic microphone. This list has several great dynamic microphones that work really well for podcasting.

 - Think of a podcast hosting site as your distribution hub. This is where you’ll upload your episodes and fire them off to Apple, Spotify, Stitcher etc..

 - The easiest and cheapest place to get music for your podcast is from royalty-free music libraries. Royalty-free music libraries allow you to pay for a music license one time, and use the music for as long as you like.

 - It’s important that your relationship with your audience extends beyond audio. Podcast show notes are a written description of the content covered in an episode.

Oh yeah, and the announcement.

I'm introducing "Haven Sessions." These are 30-minute time slots, that you can sign up for, where you get to sit down with me, and pick my brain/ask podcast related questions.

Think of these as mini consultations. I'll be offering advice on any podcast question you have.

I'll be doing 3, 30-minute slots a week.

Signup by sending a message to @thepodcasthaven on Instagram. Signups will be on a first-come basis. I'll schedule the first 3 people that message me.

Signups are open immediately. If you don't get in for next week, don't worry, I'll be opening slots every week.

Best, Eric
